The ZemeReshet Site -
Saving The Early Israeli Music Songs in The Internet
Abstract Zemereshet website, made up by a group of relatively
young amateurs, includes hundreds of Hebrew songs, mostly from the beginning
of zionism to 1948, in texts and usually sound files. These include recordings
from live sing-along performances or recent recordings of old songs, as
well as valuable old commercial recordings by soloists and choruses. Among
the songs in the website, one may find many songs that were part of the
live repertoire of community singing, but have long disappeared from that
repertoire. This choice has special anachronistic political resonances.
